Skills, Challenge & Discovery in the NH Woods
Overview
Camp activities are woven into every boy’s experience — offering challenges and skills that most kids can’t find at home.
From the focused discipline of the archery range to the serenity of sailing on the lake, to wildlife encounters on a woodland hike, these programs build confidence, patience, and a genuine love of the outdoors. While we do not consider ourselves to be a sport-specific camp, a variety of sports are available to provide for a balanced program. Competition at Tohkomeupog is not simply found on the playing field. This is where boys discover a different kind of competition: the satisfaction of challenging themselves.

Team Sports
What’s Offered
Camp facilities support active programs in tennis, lacrosse, baseball, basketball, and soccer. Coaches are counselors who compete at the high school and college level, bringing genuine skill and enthusiasm to every session.
Competition at Camp
Competition at Tohko stays internal and fun. Boys compete within their encampments, with occasional clan-vs-clan challenges that generate serious camp energy — and some of the summer’s best memories. Occasional inter-camp competitions also take place with neighboring camps.
Tohkomeupog Track Meet
One of the most anticipated events of the summer, the annual Track Meet brings campers of all ages together to compete in a full range of track and field events. Whether running, jumping, or cheering from the sidelines, every boy has a role on the team.
No Pressure to Compete
A highly competitive nature is not required to have a great summer at Tohkomeupog. Many boys who play team sports at home come to camp to try something entirely different — and that’s equally encouraged.

Archery & Riflery
Two of the camp’s most consistently popular activities, archery and riflery, teach boys the kind of focused, disciplined patience that translates well beyond the range. Both programs follow established national standards of instruction and safety. Every counselor at Tohkomeupog assists with instruction at the archery range and rifle center, working under the guidance of dedicated Activity Heads.

Campcraft
In Campcraft, boys develop hands-on skills built for the outdoors – campsite preparation, campfire safety, whittling, and basic cooking among them. Campcraft includes very practical skills that are learned during activity periods, put to good use on overnight camping adventures, and then stay with a boy long after the summer ends.

Woodlore
Woodlore takes campers into the forested areas surrounding camp to explore and study the natural world firsthand. Boys return from these outings with a sharper eye for nature — and more often than not, an exciting story about a mysterious woodland sound or an unexpected wildlife encounter.

Water Craft
The camp waterfront at Tohkomeupog supports a variety of small water craft, including: sailboats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. Skill learning occurs during morning activity periods, and general use is available during afternoon free swim.

Climbing Wall
While rock climbing adventures at Tohkomeupog are reserved for campers in the older clans, boys of all ages may develop confidence and technique using the camp’s on-site climbing wall, another one of the more popular activity options.
